We are all salespeople !

We all need to “sell” our ideas, and we can only do this by communicating effectively.
Communication is a long word! most people strugle to get their point across, and achieve a desired outcome.
Why is that? The common concept is – Talk and explain until they understand! Steven Covey (7 habits of highly effective people) said:
“Seek to understand, not to be understood”
This means, we have two ears and one mouth, and we need to use them in that ratio – talk half the time we listen.
I work with Salespeople, marketers and business owners, to communicate effectively with customers, suppliers, and co-workers – The more effective you are at communicating, the more business you have. Period!
HAVE YOU EVER:
Wanted to go for dinner, yet couldn’t convince your spouse to go where you wanted?

Had a FANTASTIC invention, and could explain to people what to do with it?
Had a ONCE IN A LIFETIME business opportunity, and could get people to listen to you?
Wanted something REALLY BAD, and didn’t know how to get it?
Had a great idea, wanted to share someone with your enthusiasm, and couldn’t?
People face these issues everyday, and it is the most frustrating thing in the world! to see a proper, let-it-all-out expression of this frustration, please go to the nearest supermarket, and wait for your victim at the candy and chocolate isle!
Once you see it, you’ll know what I’m talking about
On this page I’ll attempt to give you some tools to believe in yourself, and get others to believe in you!
I hope you’ll get whatever it is you’re looking for!

Yes, I have wanted all these things!
Interestingly, only 7% of what we speak is heard…the rest is up to 3 other significant queues like tone, delivery and body language!
Therefore, wouldn’t it be great if we could influence our target audiences thinking before we meet them, and then when we do meet them..tell them what we want; SHORT, SWEET and TO THE POINT.
This what powerful Personal Brands do..when was the last time you met Richard Branson…yet I bet you are happy to buy his products or almost anything else he endorses?
Hope you can help me!
Hi There,
Yes communication is the key. No matter how many books you read, you really have to put it into practice. Its the learning from the experience, that makes a effective communicator.
Your blog and the the books you recommend are all wonderful tools to put into practise. I know from my experience that as sales people become more comfortable with the product, environment and customers, they become more confident and are able to communicate more effectively and ultimately sell more.
It the old story, no matter how much you read to explain how to ride a bike, you have to get on it to learn. So I guess the message is, dont be too hard on yourself, for failing the few times.
I think if you read Raz blog, and try and put one or two things into practice each week without fearing failure, and learining from the experience, you are on the right direction. Experience is the ultimate understanding.
This blog has some great insights from people with many years of experience. A Great read.
Cheers,
Chrys
